Alison Berrie
Hi my name is Alison.
I started working in early years in 1991.
I have worked in Gartconner since 1997 so as of June this year, I will have spent half my life working here.
I work in the Butterfly room with the 2-3's which is a very nurturing role and very rewarding to see the children's progression before moving through to the 3-5's.
At the weekend I love to spend time with my Boston Terrier Buddy enjoying nice walks together.
Caroline Cowan
Hi, My name is Caroline Cowan & I have been an Early Years Worker in Gartconner since December 2018 and I work in the 3-5 room. I have worked in Early Years since 2002 after graduating with an HNC. I enjoy working with younger children, I find it rewarding to see them grow, further develop, & progress in their learning & in their abilities. I take pride that I can play a small part in their short journey during their time in nursery.
Angela Curtis
Hello, my name is Angela. I gained my HNC, Childcare & Education in 2005 & recently graduated with my PDA level 8 in childhood Practice (2021).
I joined Gartconner ELCC in 2016 and am based in 'The Butterfly Room' which is a very nurturing & rewarding role.
I started off as a registered childminder to fit around my own family’s needs and also have experience of working with older children at 'Out of School care'. In my spare time, I love to travel and spend quality time with my family. I also enjoy walking and do a lot of charity work, where I have climbed Ben Nevis 3 times.
Ross Harrison
Hi my name is Ross, I have worked in Gartconner for almost 3 years and in childcare for almost 12 years. In my spare time I enjoy learning and trying new things that are different from our everyday experiences and I have a wide range of hobbies.
Megan Hutchison
Hi everyone, I am Megan. I have worked at Gartconner for 2 years and 9 months, I currently work in the 3-5 room (Blossom room). In my spare time I enjoy going outdoors for long walks with my family and socialising with my friends.
Sarah McBride
Hi I'm Sarah and I've been an Early Years worker at Gartconner EYC for almost 7 years now! I began my journey in the 'Butterfly Room', working in there for a year before moving to our 3-5 'Blossom Room'. I am currently completing the 2nd year of my BA in Childhood Practice, which has been really interesting so far. I’m a strong advocate for Fairtrade produce & am on the Gartconner Eco committee.
I have 2 children & a very fluffy guinea pig called Patch. I love being outdoors & enjoy walks in the countryside, or on the odd nice sunny day- the beach!
Linda McColl
Hi, My name is Linda & I've been working at Gartconner for the last three years. At the moment I am based with the 3-5s. I have also worked within the two-year-old room.
In my free time I enjoy walking, gigs, festivals, yoga and listening to podcasts. I have a niece called Florence who I spend a lot of time with. One of our favourite activities together is camping.
Lynsey Murray
Hi everyone, my name is Lynsey. I have an HNC in childhood practice and have worked in Gartconner ELCC for 2 years. I currently work in the 3-5 room and have a leadership role in literacy. In my spare time I enjoy going for walks, spending time with my family, going to concerts, and attending a weekly pop/commercial dance class.
Kim Pepler
Hi, I am Kim Pepler. I have worked at Gartconner for the last 11 months. I am an Early Years Worker whose current role is to support the teacher Elizabeth in the 3-5 room. In my spare time I enjoy running, going for long walks and spending time with my family and friends.
Leanne Ritchie
Hi everyone. My name is Leanne. I have worked within the centre for 2 years, and 8 months. My date of qualifying as an Early Years worker was the year of 2010. I hold an NC Early Education & childcare, and an HNC Early Education & childcare qualification. I am in the last year of my BA Childhood Practice at University of Strathclyde. Currently, I am based within the Blossom room, with our 3-5-year-old children.
Rachel Rodger
Hi everyone, I am Rachel. I graduated in November 2018 with an HNC in Childhood Practice. I have worked at Gartconner for 2 years. I currently work in the 3-5 room. In my spare time I enjoy travelling to new places in Scotland, participating in various walks and hill walking. I also enjoy fundraising for various charity events throughout the year. I enjoy taking part in various courses such as Makaton and sign language to enhance my knowledge.
Shauna Turner
Hi everyone, I am Shauna and I have worked at Gartconner for 2 years 9 months. I currently work in the 3 to 5 room (Blossom Room). In my spare time I love to be outside going for walks, going to the park and exploring new places with my little boy and husband.
Suzy Wright
Hi Everyone! My name is Suzy Wright. I have worked at Gartconner ELCC for 6 and a half years. I was in the Butterfly Room for 3 years and have now been in the Blossom Room for 3 and a half years. In my spare time I enjoy getting outdoors with my two children.
 
Rachel Baikie
Hi everyone, my name is Rachel and I have worked at Gartconner for 1 and a half years. I have worked with children for 14 years in various roles. I have worked as an early years practitioner, an additional support needs assistant in a high school, and I have also managed an after school care. I hold a NC in Childcare and a SVQ3 in Children’s Care, Learning and Development.
I love working with children as every day is different, and the children always make me laugh!
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, going walks and drives with my husband and our dog, exploring different historical places. I also like attending concerts and supporting local live music with my husband and our friends.
Kirsty Weir
Hi, I'm Kirsty and I work in the 3-5 room. I graduated in 2021 with a HNC in Childhood Practice. I also have a PDA in Education Support alongside many other units including autism, play on pedals and child smile. My leadership focus within the establishment is currently Literacy and Numeracy. In my spare time I love going shopping, DIY/fashion, eating out and spending time with my daughter/family and friends.
