Our Community Café

At Gartconner Primary School, we recognise that parents, carers and families are our most important partners in education. By working together, we can support every child to thrive, achieve and develop confidence, wellbeing and a love of learning.

Our Community Café events provide opportunities for families to visit the school, celebrate achievements and gain a deeper understanding of their child's learning journey. We host two Community Cafés for each stage every year, with each session focusing on a different aspect of school life.

📚 Curriculum Community Café

Our Curriculum Community Café provides an opportunity for families to:

  • Celebrate and share learner achievements
  • Explore current learning across the curriculum
  • See examples of learning in action
  • Learn more about our approaches to teaching and learning
  • Gain practical ideas for supporting learning at home
  • Engage in discussions with staff and pupils about the learning experience

These sessions help strengthen the partnership between home and school while showcasing the exciting learning taking place within our classrooms.

❤️ Health & Wellbeing Community Café

Our Health & Wellbeing Community Café focuses on supporting children and families to develop positive wellbeing habits and strategies. Each year, sessions may explore topics such as:

  • Online safety and digital wellbeing
  • Healthy sleep routines
  • Emotional regulation
  • Building resilience
  • Positive relationships
  • Mental health and wellbeing
  • Supporting children through change and transition

These sessions provide families with practical information, helpful resources and opportunities to learn alongside one another.

Working Together

Our Community Cafés are an important part of our commitment to building a strong school community. They provide meaningful opportunities for families, pupils and staff to connect, share experiences and work together to support every child to flourish.
